Farwell USA - Hello Australia

Today the blog take a new turn. It stops being a mechanism to inform aussie friends of how the USA trip is going, and starts to be one I use to inform Yankee friends how the Hendry's are going down under. I leave at 5pm today and touch down 6am Tuesday. Cant wait.

We had a great send off yesterday, at the Bellevue billiard hall. I will post pics soon. I got some very nice parting gifts from many of my good 787 friends. Thanks very much to you all.

Home soon - for good

Only 5 days to go, until I leave USA for good. I will be sad to leave so many great new friends, but I will sure be glad to get back to see Fiona, Joshua Craig and Jessica Erin again.

Golf, USA style

I managed to squeeze in a game of golf before I left, which I really enjoyed. The Everett Country Club is a fully private course and it is amazingly green and soft. I ended up 4th (and last) with 108. It was great to get out and have a whack again. Brent lit up the final holes, with an eagle, which was amazing to see.

X Dog trail run

Me and a duude who slugged out the last hill
Crazy Blair Witch Forest
I drove the round trip to Portland again this weekend to race in an X Dog event. It was awesome. Their motto is 'Insane ideas - real events'. The course was a bit of a rainforest trail meets blair witch forest kinda deal. Running through the trees under the dark canopy was a bit spooky. It didnt rain too much, so although it was very slimy, it wasnt the mud fest we were expecting. I had some anxious moments running down around muddy corners. It was a very very hard 3 lap event, with a real big climb. Results here - should be up in the next day or two.

An evening outing

Locky upset about beer inavailability
We went to to Seattle to go to the Village pub to watch the semi finals of the college basketball. The games weren't that great, even for the fans, but it was a good night overall. The beer was available is huge crazy chilled jugs. We loved it. Eventually it ran out and Locky freaked again. :)

Hey - there is still more to see, posts previous to the one above exist in the archives, available on the right hand column.
